Comparison table of Modernism and Postmodernism

Modernism vs postmodernism
I believe that many of my classmates are using this table in their blog. But this is only the table i found that can explain clearly and I can easy understand them.

So I'm doing comparison of modernism and postmodernism architecture.
I'm using some of the keyword from the table above to explain the design of architecture.

Modernism architecture

Early Modernism - Royd House, Hale, Cheshire 1914
manchesterhistory.net

Modernist architecture-  A. Conger Goodyear House
So, I used some of the keywords from the Modernism table, which are :
-grid
-neat
-controlled
-logical.
As you can see these two modernism architecture, the buildings are designed simple and neat (grid system) and this is logical when people look at it and know it is a building. The buildings did not have crazy design, they are designed under control.

PostModernism architecture

Urban Cactus
arthistoryarchive.com

Ciuitad Valencia, Spain – Calatrava
thearchitecturalslant.com
The keywords for postmodernism are:
-violating the grid
-confusing
-surreal

Postmodernism architecture is different compare to modernism. The design is close to surrealism. They are very avant garde and builded violating the grid. They did not follow the design of modernist building. The exterior of the building make people confuse "It's it really a building or a piece of installation art ?"

(ps: although the design of modernism architecture is more logical than postmodernism architecture, this doesn't mean that modernism architecture is not modern at all)
